5 Online side hustles that can earn you hundreds a month
Over the last year and a half, i’ve been following “beermoney” on reddit. The concept of beer money is way people can earn easy pocket change online. Every couple of months it seems that there are more and more platforms online that have payouts via surveys or user experience testing. The very first time I hear about getting paid for surveys was in 2015 in a college research class. “People can make a lot of money” said my professor. It wasn’t until 2021 I really looked into it.
On this forum every month, the community posts about their monthly earnings. I’m seeing more and more people earn a thousand or two a month. Im noticing there are many other sites I have yet to try. Some of the ones that are making the most money fortunately I am already signed up for and have sucess myself. I am going to share my top 5 ways of making side money online.
User Testing
This one is my favorite so far! Sign up as soon as you can because you may be waitlisted to get the chance to use this site. User testing is the process through which the interface and functions of a website, app, product, or service are tested by real users who perform specific tasks in realistic conditions. The payouts are from $10-$60. Most of the screeners are $10 tests and when you are qualified takes no longer than 15 minutes. The ones that make good money are the $60 live interviews. They have $30 ones for 30 min live interview and $60 for an hour interview. These are done on zoom. I was so nervous when I first did a 60 min user interview but it ended up being a fun and easy experience! I honestly love doing user testing because you get the be creative and help other companies improve their sites. The downside to user testing is there are days it can take awhile to qualify for a screener. I’d say the average is one hour you will find a qualified screener. The other day I got lucky and made $80 in a span of 1 and a half hours. My recommendation is to keep the website open on the background if you do your day job on your computer. The site pays you through paypal.
Prolific.co
This one is my second favorite site to make money. It pays you in British Pounds but through paypal you can transfer to USD. I use this site every day for 30 mins and Id say I make $7.66USD on average daily. The pro (unlike usertesting) is you dont get disqualified for any tests so youre not wasting your time. The site will show you online studies and surveys and will tell you how much an hour it pays and for how many mins. The pay ranges from $4-$15 per hour. The surveys go from 1 min-30 mins. You will need paypal for this one and can transfer once you reach 5 British pounds.
Data Annotation
This one is a new one for me but enjoying it and getting used to it so far. Data Annotation pays you to train AI (artificial Intelligence) such as ChatGPT. It is easy task and there is a lot of creativity to it. They pay you by tasks and they also have projects that pay hourly usually $20 per hour. I’ve heard of some people making thousands using this. I notice if I get a notification on a project it gets booked up quickly. I jump into a project when I get a notification sent to my email. This one also pays you via paypal.
Amazon MTurk
This one I have not used myself because for some unknown reason I am banned on there. Most of the times this is going to be surveys, completing sentences, or even using your voice to do voice overs. Ive heard people earn $9-$12 an hour to $20 per hour. This site pays you via PayPal and amazon gift cards.
Digital Products
Last but not least- selling Digital Products! This would require more in-depth posts to explain what you can do to make money selling digital products. I sell products on Etsy and TeacherPayTeachers. Etsy I would say is the most popular platform right now where you can sell digital products. In a nutshell, you find a niche. It could be wedding invites, digital art, worksheets, business card templates, Youtube Banners, etc. I also highly recommend using Canva to help design your digital products. What’s great about this method is that it is passive income. Once the product is created you have an endless supply.
As the online landscape continues to expand, these five methods stand out as viable ways to earn side income. Whether it's through user testing, surveys, data annotation, MTurk tasks, or creating digital products, individuals can explore these opportunities to supplement their finances and potentially even turn them into significant income streams. With dedication and perseverance, one can navigate the world of online side hustle world and reap the benefits of its flexible and rewarding nature.
